Jay Cake ~ Traditional Pound Cake

2 sticks butter

3 cups sugar

2 tsp vanilla

6 eggs

1 cup sour cream

3 cups flour

½ tsp baking soda

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cream together butter and sugar. Add vanilla and mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until combined. Sift together flour and baking soda. Add flour mixture and sour cream to the creamed mixture, alternating each 3-4 times.

Pour batter into a buttered and floured 10” tube pan. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes to 1 hour and 20 minutes.
