LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

A registered sex offender is accused of threatening a Lincolnton Police detective for nearly two months after being arrested for soliciting a minor.

According to investigators, Jason Scott Webb was arrested in 2015 and charged with soliciting a minor by computer for a sexual act and delivering marijuana, both felonies. Webb plead guilty to the solicitation charge in October 2015 and became a registered sex offender.

Webb was arrested by Lincolnton Police Department Detective Brent Heavner.

Starting in March, Det. Heavner began getting various emails and voicemails detailing threatening statements. The threats continued until April.

An investigation was opened and it was determined that the emails and voicemails were being sent by Webb.

Warrants were issued and Webb was arrested Wednesday for communicating threats, cyberstalking and harassing phone calls. Webb was placed in the Gaston County Jail with a $250,000.00 secured bond.
