Three injured by runaway beverage cart on Charlotte-bound flight

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Three people were injured when a beverage cart came loose on a Charlotte-bound flight early Thursday morning.

According to American Airlines, the incident happened during a flight from Hartford Bradley Airport to Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Officials say a beverage cart came loose during the takeoff for flight 1941. Two passengers and a flight attendant were injured in the incident. They requested medical evaluation when the flight landed in Charlotte around 8:30 a.m.

American Airlines says they are investigating what happened and maintenance crews are taking a look at the equipment.
