A driver is facing charges after police say he attempted to throw a jab at them and drive off, but crashed before he got very far.
According to a Rock Hill Police report, officers were called to the corner of Mt Gallant and Celanese roads late Sunday night to the report of a reckless driver. When officers arrived, they found Eduardo Fernandez, who was screaming at the officers, saying "[expletive] the police!"
Fernandez then reportedly revved the engine to his motorcycle and popped a wheelie. Officers says he lost control of the bike and it fell over. Fernandez and his passenger both denied medical assistance.
According to the report, when the motorcycle fell over, an open can of beer that Fernandez had spilled all over him and the motorcycle. Officers say they found a receipt for the recently purchased beer.
Fernandez was given a field sobriety test and passed it. Officers say he only had a beginner's permit for driving a motorcycle.
He was booked for reckless driving and given citations for open container and no motorcycle license. His motorcycle was towed.
