Mother, child hit by vehicle in Chester County

CHESTER, SC (WBTV) -

A mother and her child are being airlifted to the hospital after they were reportedly hit by a vehicle in Chester County.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 1:50 p.m. along the 600-block of Pinckney Street, near the train tressel, in Chester.

Officials say it happened just after the child was dropped off by a Head Start school bus.

Chester County Emergency Management officials say a landing zone was set up to transport the mother and child to the hospital. Both were reportedly conscious after the wreck.
