Shooting investigation underway at NE Charlotte hotel, UNC plays for title - DETAILS on WBTV

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Good morning!  Kristen Miranda with you on this Monday, it is April 4th.

Chilly this morning as you send the kids back to the bus stop. Meteorologist Al Conklin is in the First Alert Weather Center right now putting the finishing touches on the forecast. It sounds like temperatures are going to change a little this week. You'll want to hear what he has to say.

BREAKING this morning: One person was shot and injured at a hotel in northeast Charlotte this morning. It happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Economy Inn on Tom Hunter Road. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police believe the shooter and victim knew each other. They do not believe the shooting was random. So far, no arrests have been made. Ashton Pellom is at the scene and will have more details in a LIVE report.

I know many of you are talking about the big game tonight. UNC plays for the National Championship!  We'll get you ready for the big game.

Our Ashton Pellom is following a sad story this morning...two families in Rock Hill...trying to cope with the deaths of two 17 year old boys.  They were friends - but they were shot and killed in two separate incidents.  Ashton will have the latest on the investigation.
