Rain showers and a few isolated thunderstorms will continue to pass across the Charlotte area through late Friday morning. We'll get a brief break heading into the afternoon.

Models depicting another round of thunderstorms late Friday evening - and mainly from Charlotte and southward towards Columbia. Highs Friday afternoon will be in the mid and upper seventies.
Severe weather and tornadoes swept across three southern states: Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

As a wave of low-pressure develops along the front once it passes to our east, a few showers will be spread back our way through early Saturday morning. However, the wet weather won't stick around all weekend as Saturday afternoon and Sunday will feature clearing skies and cooler temperatures, with highs returning to the 60s and lows in the 40s.
