SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) -

A townhouse was heavily damaged in a Thursday afternoon two-alarm fire in Salisbury.

The fire broke out around 12:35 p.m. Thursday at the townhome along Ashbrook Drive. This is in the Rolling Hills Townhomes area.

Heavy smoke was seen coming from the top floor of the building. Officials say the fire sparked in a wall and spread to the attic.

Ashbrook Road was closed around the fire.
