A Charlotte man was reportedly shot after deputies say he kicked open the bedroom door of a home in Fayetteville.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, a man called 911 after Clarence Kebreau, of Charlotte, came into his home and told him to get on the floor.

The man's brother, who was in the bedroom at the time, reportedly heard the noise and came out to see what was happening.

Deputies say he saw his brother face down on the floor with Kebreau pointing a gun at him. The man went back into his bedroom and got a gun.

That's when Kebreau reportedly kicked open the bedroom door and was shot.

Kebreau was taken to the hospital and later airlifted to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. WBTV is checking with the hospital for more information about Kebreau's condition.

According to investigators in Cumberland County, Kebreau was on federal probation.
