A couple of weeks ago, I blogged that a non traditional power would win the National Championship, but after seeing the brackets, I think I am going to change my mind.
I have the right to do that and probably will do it again a couple of times before UNC Wilmington and Duke tip at 12:15 on Thursday to start the best 3 weeks of basketball.
After seeing the brackets, I just don't like Wichita State, Northern Iowa, VCU, Xavier, Temple, Gonzaga, Dayton, or St. Joseph's to make a deep enough run to cut down the nets in Houston on April 4th. They will pull their share of shockers in the first couple of days and will ruin a few brackets. I especially like Temple to make it to the Sweet 16.
The teams that most experts are picking to win it all are the usual suspects (Kansas, North Carolina, Michigan State). I don't think any of these 3 will make the Final Four. WHY? This season has been an unpredictable up to this point and I think that will continue in the tournament.
Here is my four to get to Houston... Miami, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Virginia.
My championship game is Oklahoma vs Virginia.
The champ will be Virginia.
This is my call as of 6 PM on Monday.
I'm sure I will watch a ton of TV in the next few days and the "experts" will talk me out of this, but as of now, Virginia is my pick.
Who you got to win it all?
