Raleigh repercussions?

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom.

Charlotte’s controversial non-discrimination “bathroom bill” passes tonight.  It will be interesting to see what happens next after Governor Pat McCrory warned some members of City Council that there will be repercussions from Raleigh and the Republican controlled legislature.

The mayor of Hildebran is getting threats after an old school in her town caught fire and burned down.  She and other town officials fought to have the building demolished.  But those plans were put on hold, until today’s fire.  Investigators are working to answer the question, ‘was this an arson?’

Apple has been given until the end of the week to comply with a court order requiring them to help the FBI crack a terrorist cell phone.  Apple says if they help it will expose other customers to cyber-attacks.  A Pew Research poll shows 51% of American believe Apple should comply.

You won’t believe what someone did to a puppy.  We have an X-ray of a 6-week old lab mix with 18 BB’s under its skin.  It was not only shot, it was stabbed.  Yet, the dog is alive and on pain medication.  Rock Hill police are looking for the monster of cruelty.

Donald Trump won handily in South Carolina, and expects to win big in Nevada during the GOP caucus tomorrow.  The latest poll has Trump leading Ted Cruz 39-23.  Marco Rubio is hoping to parlay his 2nd place finish in South Carolina into momentum out west.
