LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - BJ Correll is a football player… but it's two dance studios in Lincoln County joining forces to raise money for him and his family.
BJ is a 9th grader at North Lincoln High School fighting leukemia a second time. He was first diagnosed in the 6th grade. His mom, Michelle, says the family is doing everything they can to hang in there. BJ is doing the most. He's strong and sets an example, she says. He has been in Levine Children's Hospital the past 90+ days.
Every year Expressions Dance Studio and Star Struck Dance Studio pair up to put on a Benefit Showcase to raise money and awareness for someone in the community. This year, 100% of what is raised will go to BJ and his family.
Last year, 100% went to Abby Grace, who is also one of our #MollysKids.
"We're two studios, one heart," said Mandy Robinson, with Expressions.
The benefit is two Saturdays from now, on February 27th at the Lincolnton Citizens Center. 6pm is the main show. A $5 admission, or whatever donation you want to give.
