LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A Catawba County man has been arrested and charged after threatening a Lincoln County district court judge.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, 51-year-old James Michael Robinette,of Catawba, was appearing in Lincoln County Child Support Court being presided over by District Court Judge Jeanette Reeves last week.

After Robinette's motion was denied he reportedly made a statement that "I guess I'll just have to go get my gun" which was reportedly directed toward Judge Reeves.

Court Officers detained Robinette until the end of the court session. He was brought back before Judge Reeves where he was found in contempt of court and sentenced to 30 days in custody.

Thursday, Robinette was charged with one felony count of Threats against Executive, Legislative, or Court Officer and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
