Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools closed for students on Monday

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will be closed for students Monday, Feb. 15. Weather reports and road assessments indicate freezing temperatures and icy road conditions which may make early morning travel unsafe, especially for school buses.

Therefore, with safety in mind, CMS will be closed for students Monday.

All Before-School and After-School Enrichment Programs (BSEP/ASEP) are cancelled. All school events and athletic activities are also canceled. The new make-up day for most students is Friday, May 27.

Project L.I.F.T. Continuous Learning Schools, Druid Hills and Thomasboro academies will not make up the student day because they already have 19 additional days built into their calendar. Walter G. Byers School and Bruns Academy will have the student make-up day on Monday, March 14, 2016.

CMS will continue to work with NCDOT, Charlotte DOT, law enforcement and other city and county agencies throughout the day to assess weather patterns and road conditions across our county. We will keep you informed of any changes to school operations.

Again, CMS will be closed for students today, Monday, Feb. 15.
