DENVER (WBTV) -

A tweet by the Denver Police Department, in Colorado, is getting traction online after the department trolled Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton on Twitter during the Super Bowl.

The tweet was sent out Sunday during halftime of the Super Bowl. The Broncos were leading the Panthers 10-7 at the half.

It was composed similar to a transcript from a 911 call that would be released by the police, with the caller screaming and then saying they had "a herd of Broncos on me."

"Mr Newton?" the 911 operator asks.

The tweet has been retweeted hundreds of times and shows 911 operators wearing and holding their Broncos gear.

The Denver Police Department has a history of trolling opposing teams during games. One posted by the twitter account during the Broncos win over the New England Patriots for the AFC Championship was retweeted thousands of times.
