Charlotte man facing multiple kidnapping, armed robbery charges

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A man is charged in multiple armed robberies in the Charlotte area.

Saturday, police say 31-year-old Eric Orr held a woman against her will at her home on Equipment Drive and took her gold Ford Taurus.

Early Sunday morning, police say Orr robbed the Quick Trip on Albemarle Road at gunpoint.

A couple hours later, around 6:30 a.m., Orr robbed the Circle K on Albemarle Road at gunpoint. Police say Orr forced the clerk, who was outside, back inside the store at gunpoint. He took an undisclosed amount of money and fled, police say.

Sunday, Orr was found driving the stolen Gold Taurus. Officers say Orr failed to stop for police during an attempted traffic stop. 

Orr was eventually caught and arrested. Evidence linking Orr to the robberies was found inside the car, police say. 

Orr is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, felony flee and elude, reckless driving, assault on an officer, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of second-degree kidnapping, common law robbery and false imprisonment.
