Expect sunshine, gusty breeze today ahead of weekend warm-up. Swipe for more.

A high wind advisory remains in effect in the mountains through 4 p.m. today and a few snow showers will blow through there as well.

With gusts to 50mph, some isolated power outages are possible, but accumulating snow should be minimal, less than an inch in most areas.

Outside of the mountains the weather won't be quite so harsh. Sunshine returns for today, but it still remains a bit cool with highs in the upper 40s to near 50° and a chilly breeze will blow most of the day.

As high pressure builds in, tonight will be clear, dry and cold with overnight lows in the 20s.

Then the much-advertised warm-up begins as we head into the weekend!

Saturday and Sunday will be spring-like with sunshine and highs in the low to mid 60s. The warmth continues into next week as well, with mid-upper 60s in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday.

Thereafter, our next chance for rain arrives late Tuesday and continues into Wednesday as a strong cold front moves in.

That front is likely to bring some pockets of heavy rain, perhaps even a stronger thunderstorm or two on Wednesday before it rolls east midweek. That will also bring an abrupt end to our spring-like weather, so enjoy the warmth while you can.

Hope you have a great Friday and weekend!
