To help make it possible for more Carolina Panthers fans get to the Super Bowl Feb. 7, some major airlines have added round-trip flights from Charlotte to California.

Flights go to both San Francisco and San Jose, the latter of which is about five miles from Levi Stadium, where the Panthers will face the Denver Broncos at 3:30 PST (6:30 EST.)

Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is the second-biggest hub for American Airlines. Denver and San Francisco are both hubs of United, so the airliner has added flights between those cities as well.

In an effort to beat the rush for Super Bowl airfare after the Panthers’ 49-15 win against the Arizona Cardinals, many fans have already booked flights despite not knowing whether they have tickets.

In addition to airlines’ normally scheduled weekend flights between Charlotte and the California cities, here are some of their additional flights for Charlotte travelers:

  • JetBlue added a flight from Charlotte on the morning of Feb. 5 and a return one from San Jose International Airport on the morning of Feb. 8.
  • United added one flight from Charlotte to San Francisco on Feb. 6 and a return flight from San Francisco after the game on Feb. 7.
  • American Airlines added two flights from Charlotte to San Francisco on Feb. 5. American also added one direct flight to San Jose on Feb. 5. Spokeswoman Katie Cody said the airliner normally doesn’t have direct flights to San Jose those days (Fridays.)
  • American added three flights back from San Francisco to Charlotte on Feb. 8, and two direct flights back from San Jose Feb. 8.

Delta also has flights between Charlotte and San Francisco and San Jose, but a representative could not immediately be reached for comment.
