SEATTLE, Wa. (WBTV) -

A Seattle man has started an online petition to ban Carolina Panthers' quarterback Cam Newton from the Seahawks stadium during the 2016-17 NFL season.

The Panthers defeated the Seahawks twice during the 2015 season. Once in Seattle on October 18 and then again during the second round of the Divisional Round on Jan. 17.

According to the Change.org petition, “Cam Newton is one of the most unprofessional, unsportsmanlike individual on the face of the planet.”

The author, Andrew Tilton, said Newton should be banned from entering the Seattle stadium in 2016.

“This should teach him to put his arrogance in check,” Tilton wrote.

The Panthers are slated to play the Seahawks in Seattle in 2016, but an official date has not been set.

The petition included the following letter to the Seahawks.

Ban Cam Newton From Century link field. He is one of the most unsportsmanlike quarterbacks in the NFL and deserves to be banned from Century Link Field. He dislikes Washington as a whole anyways, so why not move to make this possible.

The petition has been signed by 1,100 people had signed the petition as of Tuesday afternoon.

But don't think everyone that signed supports Tilton's hopes. In order to comment on the petition, you have to sign it.

"You couldn't even keep Cam out of the end zone. How are you going to keep him out of an entire stadium??" one signer wrote.

Another person wrote, "I'm signing this because as apart of the 12th man. I speak for all the REAL FANS of the hawks that you sir are an embarrassment to the 12th man. It's people like you that make us look stupid. We lost, quit crying."

Earlier this month, a letter from Seahawks fan "Sarah" went viral when she posted on the Facebook page of the CBS-affiliate in Seattle, calling him "Mr. Classless Cam Newton."

Sarah took aim at Newton's actions after the game -- when Newton grabbed a "12th Man" flag and chucked it away.

Many Panthers fans commented on that letter defending the team and Newton.

The Panthers will head to California next week, where they will face the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.
