CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

It’s official. The Carolina Panthers are headed to the Super Bowl. The Panthers ousted the Arizona Cardinals 49-15 to take the NFC Championship Sunday night.

Before the game had even gone final, several fans took to the streets surrounding Bank of America Stadium to celebrate. A mixture of joyous yells and chants could be heard. Many people echoed the same phrase aloud, ‘Super Bowl.'

“That was awesome. We played tough today,” said Panthers fan Dan Beaver. Beaver was just one of many to praise the Panthers performance Sunday.

“That was the best game of my life,” said Panthers fan Jay Evans.

Many fans seemed confident that the Panthers will be able to take down the Broncos come Super Bowl Sunday.

“Denver’s got a great defense, so do we, but we’re better on offense so we take it,” said another Panthers fan.

For some fans, making a trip to the Super Bowl won’t be a first-time experience.

Philip Morgan, a diehard fan, said he went to the 2004 Super Bowl when the Panthers came up short against the New England Patriots. Sunday night, he wore his old Super Bowl ticket around his neck.

“I brought this out as my good luck charm today. I will see you in Santa Clara,” said Morgan.

Morgan said he will be in California when the Panthers take on the Denver Broncos on February 7.
