A gulf coast storm is taking aim at the Carolinas this Friday morning. Expect the rain to begin falling in the Charlotte area late this morning... and then intensify as we head into the afternoon and evening.
This is a quick hitting system, and while it may drop a quick half inch to an inch of rain, it will be moving off the coast of North Carolina by Friday night.
The weekend also brings another temperature split, as Saturday looks dry with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Sunday is colder, and there could be a few sprinkles or even a brief period of light snow first thing in the morning.
It then looks dry and very chilly by game-time with highs back in the low to mid 40s Sunday afternoon.
Another shot of even colder air will follow for MLK Day and Tuesday of next week with highs mainly in 30s and lows in the teens.
