Flashback: The top 20 songs, movies of 1996

(WBTV) -

Nineties kids rejoice. We all feel like the 1990s were just yesterday - but it's been nearly 20 years since the 90s ended.

So while we ring in 2016 - we decided to take a look back 20 years to 1996.

It was the year that DISH Network launched, "Murder, She Wrote" aired it's last show after a 12-year run, The Price Is Right turned 25, Dragon Ball Z premiered in the U.S, the O.J. Simpson trial began, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles broadcast it's final episode and we saw the very first "25 Days of Christmas" on The Family Channel.

And if you listen to the 90s on 9 - it was a year of excellent music.

In fact, we cruised Billboard Magazine's Top 100 songs and found the top 20 songs from 1996.

But it wasn't just music making a big hit in 1996. You're likely to recall your favorite lines from some of these blockbusters from 96.

Did I just hear you yelling "Show me the money!"?

Hint Number 2 (and 3): One of the top movies had a sequel out in 2015 and another has a sequel coming out this year!
