Happy New Year!  I hope your 2016 is already off to a wonderful start!  Kristen Miranda here with the rest of the AM team catching you up on the latest news this morning.

BREAKING: A man was arrested after a police cruiser was stolen and wrecked in west Charlotte. 

Police say the officer was clearing a nightclub on Wilkinson Boulevard when the man jumped in his police cruiser and wrecked it. The cruiser was found wrecked near the Sheraton on Billy Graham Parkway. Ashton Pellom will have more in a LIVE report.

This morning, a family from Union County is hoping to get justice after a 70-year-old woman was carjacked and robbed. It happened yesterday morning as the woman pulled up to her job.  She is sharing her scary story in hopes that someone will come forward. 

We also know, now, which teams will play for the college football national championship.
