Two hospitalized in wrong-way crash on I-85 in Belmont; Suspect in Northlake mall shooting remembered - DETAILS on WBTV

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A three-vehicle crash shut down part of Interstate 85 in Belmont this morning after a vehicle was traveling the wrong way. Two drivers were taken to the hospital. The accident happened on I-85 northbound at mile marker 25. All lanes were reopened just before 5 a.m. Officials have not said if any charges will be filed. 

The investigation into that shooting at Northlake Mall continues this morning.  At the same time, family, friends, even strangers are remembering the man killed inside the shopping center. Dozens attended a vigil last night remembering the suspect, Daquan Westbrook.

Brody O'Connell is in the Alert Center following the latest on the severe and deadly storms over the weekend...Texas was hit the hardest...Missouri too.  

A  woman from Lincoln County is expected in court today to face charges in the death of her six-month-old son.

Developing overnight: the Mayor of Chicago is calling for change within the police department after two people were shot and killed by police officers over the weekend.

And...the Panthers. A little disappointment for fans that the team won't go undefeated....but hey...take a page from Steph Curry's book (we'll show you what he said about the loss)... and this morning we're looking ahead to the playoffs and how the team can ensure home field advantage.
