Counterfeit crackdown

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom.

The undefeated Carolina Panthers are a hot item—hot, as in a lot of counterfeit tickets and merchandise floating around.  But tonight, police crackdown on those who are trying to make a dishonest buck off the team’s popularity.

It’s not often crooks rob a place known as a police hangout, but two dunderheads defied the odds and pulled off a violent stick-up at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Charlotte’s Southend.  They pistol whipped a clerk who said he didn’t have a key to the safe.  As he laid in a pool of blood, one of the robbers stepped in it and left a bloody footprint.  You’ll learn more in my weekly Crime Stoppers report.

Rain tomorrow, cold after that.  After a week of 70-degree weather, we are staring down the barrel of winter.
