CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

The rookie sensation who took the Panthers by storm in 2014 pulled in record numbers of people at an autograph signing at the Harris Teeter in Morrocroft.

Kelvin Benjamin, who tore his ACL in training camp, hasn't played a game all season, but still ranks among the fan favorites.

"He had such a strong first season, people just really like him," said one fan who waited in line for more than an hour. At one point during the afternoon, the line stretched out of the store and around the back of the building.

Benjamin signed hats, jerseys, photos and football helmets for more than an hour.

Harris Teeter says it's the strongest turnout for a Panthers player in recent history.

Benjamin has been through surgery and rehab and is expected to return next season.
