Pecan Bars

Shortbread Crust:

1/2 Cup Sugar

1/2 Cup Butter

1 1/2 Cups Flour

Mix ingredients together. Pour into 11X13 pan. Press dough in pan making sure to form dough around the sides of the pan. (This will help the liquid mixture stay within the middle of the crust) pre cook the shortbread curst for 20 to 25 minutes on 350. After 20 minutes remove the pan. While crust is cooling start on the pecan mixture


1 Cup unsalted Butter

1/2 Cup Honey

1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar

1 Teaspoon Orange Zest

2 Tablespoons Heavy Cream

1 Cup Pecans

2 Tablespoons Bourbon

Combine  the butter, honey, brown sugar, and the orange zest in a saucepan. Cook on low heat to melt the butter. Once butter is melted raise the heat and cook for 4 minutes at a boil. Remove from heat add the pecans and the heavy cream. Pour mixture over shortbread crust. Cook for 20 to 25 minutes at 350.
