One person hospitalized in uptown Charlotte stabbing; Some Alexander Co. residents unable to reach 911- Details on WBTV

Anyone traveling on I-77 north just south of Uptown overnight came across what looked to be a pretty bad crash. Three people were taken to the hospital and part of the interstate was shut down for a couple hours. Police believe alcohol may have been involved after they found a bottle of vodka and beer can on the hood of a vehicle involved.

One person was hospitalized following a stabbing in uptown Charlotte early this morning. The stabbing happened on N College Street around 4:30 a.m. Officials say the victim ran down the block to the Holiday Inn uptown for help. Officials believe both people were homeless. So far, no arrests have been made.

If you live in Alexander County, you might not be able to reach 911 operators. Officials say some residents dialing on a landline are unable to reach 911. Cellphones are not impacted. They are working to determine what's causing the issue.
