LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) -

Mary Ward didn't expect all the attention when she simply obliged her grandson's request to take a picture while she 'dabbed'.

The pose has been made famous by many high profile people, including Carolina Panthers' quarterback Cam Newton, who often makes the gesture after a touchdown.

Mary was watching the game with family on Thanksgiving and her grandson taught her the pose. He posted the photo on Facebook and his girlfriend tweeted it.

"I don't understand why all these people keep calling me, but it's kind of cool," said the 95-year-old Lincoln County native.

Mary has been a huge Panthers fan since the team was formed in 1995.

"I've missed a few games but I've seen all the big ones," Mary said, adding that last week's game against New Orleans never had her worried. "I asked God for some kind of miracle and it worked."

Mary's photo has been featured on ESPN and by several media outlets.

After her Wednesday afternoon interview with WBTV, she added, "this will probably be my last interview."

Mary says she's got to go practice her dab for Sunday's game against Atlanta.
