Ban on Muslims

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom.

GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump is calling for a total ban on letting Muslims into the United States until, he says, the nation’s leaders can “figure out what is going on” after the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, Calif.  Reaction has been swift and polarized.

Without question, the most difficult story we’ve had to report in years—a young man working the first day on his new job for a tree trimming service, was somehow pulled into a wood chipper and killed.  We’re talking to his mother about this horrible accident.

When Panthers coach Ron Rivera was repeatedly asked about not taking Cam Newton out of the game after a helmet-to-helmet blow, the usually mild-mannered, even-tempered coach fired back at reporters.  His response has gone viral.

We’re also running down information about a Charlotte doctor charged with sexually assaulting some of his patients.  Dr. Mario Hernandez, 58, is charged with three counts of second-degree sexual offense. He voluntarily turned himself in to police on Monday.

Our weather for this first full week in December couldn’t be much better.  Eric Thomas says we could hit 70 degrees by Friday.

Please join Eric, Molly Grantham, Delano Little and me for WBTV News at 11:00!
