WBTV is proud to claim the #1 rated morning news in the Charlotte area according to Nielsen Local People Meters.  As we complete the all-important November measurement period, Nielsen data shows more households and adults watch WBTV News This Morning between 5:00-7:00 a.m. than any other Charlotte television station.  WBTV News This Morning was recently awarded Best Morning Anchor Team from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas (RTDNAC.)   They are also nominated for Best Morning Newscast at the Mid-South Regional Emmy Awards which takes place in February; an award they have won in previous years.

WBTV News Director, Dennis Milligan, had the following to say after winning the morning news category:

“We’re very pleased with the winning trend, which started back in July, and excited to know that more viewers rely on us to be their primary source of news, traffic and weather in the morning.”
