Both the Carolina Panthers and their fans have been waiting over twenty years for the chance to play on Thanksgiving. So when the opportunity presented itself, a lot of fans didn't think twice about booking their ticket to Dallas.

We had a 7 a.m. flight out of Charlotte and there were a lot of Panthers fans on board excited to get to Dallas to cheer their team on. Even though it's early in the week, there are already a lot of fans in their Panthers gear taking over Dallas.

So there's no question this game means a lot to Panther Nation.

Many fans told us that they felt this was a honor and a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to come Dallas to watch the Panthers play in their first ever Thanksgiving Day game.

When it came down to deciding whether or not to trade in the traditional Thanksgiving Day meal for a trip to Dallas, it wasn't even an option. Thanksgiving can simply be moved to another day for the 10-0 Panthers.

The team has done a great job staying consistent with their week by week, zero-zero record mentality, but they couldn't deny that playing on Thanksgiving was something they've dreamed of since they were children.

''It's a complete honor to be able to go out there and play on Thanksgiving,'' Panthers offensive tackle, Mike Remmers, told us.

You'll be able to watch the Panthers take on the Cowboys on WBTV. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m.
