Rain moves out, sun returns with afternoon temps in the 70s

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

During the morning hours the rain will be moving out from west to east.

The mountains and foothills have already dried out, but there will be a few showers left around east of I-77 at daybreak.

The rain will be out of our way entirely by mid day and the sun will return for the afternoon with warm readings in the mid 70s.

Skies will be clear and it will be chillier overnight with lows in the 30s and 40s.

Friday and the weekend will be much cooler despite a decent amount of sunshine to go around.

Highs on Friday will be near 60° and we only reach the upper 50s on Saturday, perhaps not breaking out of the 40s on Sunday.

Overnight lows over the weekend will be cold, down in the 20s and 30s across the entire WBTV viewing area.
