Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom.
SouthPark Mall has taken the Christmas tree out of Christmas. They’ve decided that Santa sitting in a foam swirl they call a glacier is just fine for those pictures with the little kids. Frankly, it’s an outrage for many who are hot under the collar judging by their Facebook posts. We’re talking about it at 11:00.
Former Panthers player Greg Hardy has been outed. Evidence from his bench trial was slipped to an online site. Included are pictures of injuries to Hardy’s former girlfriend who quit cooperating with prosecutors forcing them to drop assault charges against him. Tonight, Hardy’s current team owner, Jerry Jones of the Cowboys says in part, “We have given Greg a second chance.”
Quite a bit of improvement for the young mother who was shot by burglars defending her baby and her home. Semantha Bunch was able to talk and take a few steps today in the hospital, according to her family. Without medical insurance, her family has set-up a Go-Fund-Me page which has already collected $23,000 in donations.
If you’re going to the Panthers game Sunday, make sure to plan extra time to get to your seats. While the Panthers’ brass says their security procedures won’t change in the wake of the rappelling protestors on Monday night, you can be sure there will be extra attention at the gates.
Thursday’s sunshine was welcome, but Saturday storms are on the way. Hope you can carve out a good weekend around the showers.
