STATESVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Statesville police say they are looking for members of a local gang known as the "Hot Boyz" in connection to burglaries and larcenies in the South Statesville area.
Investigators are specifically looking into 22 residential burglaries of flat screen televisions and other electronics that happened between August 4 and October 23.
Investigators say six of the suspects are associated with the "Hot Boyz." The suspects are facing charges ranging from first degree burglary to felony larceny.
Police say the criminal activity of this gang escalated over the weekend and say they have connected members to two armed robberies.
On Friday, October 23, two victims were reportedly robbed at gunpoint near the intersection of Wilmington and 3rd Street. Police say they were robbed of money and cell phones around 11:30 p.m.
Then, less than 24 hours later, around 3 p.m. Saturday, police say a third victim was robbed at gunpoint at the intersection of Randolph Street and Winston Avenue. Police believe associates of the "Hot Boyz" gang also took a cell phone and money from that person.
Police are still looking for Shabaz Daequan Lovette, Fredrick Anthony Cherry, and Judakiss Jawade Morrison each charged with breaking and entering or robbery with a dangerous weapon.
