Man killed in southeast Charlotte shooting identified

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A man police say was shot and killed Wednesday night in southeast Charlotte has been identified as 22-year-old Corey Bryce Danver.

According to police, the shooting happened along the 7300-block of Creekwood Quorum Drive around 9:15 p.m.

Officers say they were called to an assault with a deadly weapon and found a man, later identified as Danver, inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound.

Danver was pronounced dead by MEDIC.

"At this time detectives believe that the victim and suspect are known to one another and this was not a random act of violence," police said.
