GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - An assistant principal for Gaston County schools has been arrested after he's accused of driving while intoxicated.
According to jail records, 36-year-old Douglas Edward Doorley was arrested and booked in the Gaston County jail early Saturday morning, hours after his birthday.
Jail records show he was booked around 2:45 a.m. and charged with DWI. He was released less than six hours later.
He was held on a $2,500 bond.
Doorley is an assistant principal at North Gaston High School.
Gaston County Schools spokesman, Todd Hagans, says Doorley self-reported the arrest over the weekend to school officials.
Hagans says Doorley is still actively employed with the school district.
According to his bio on the school's website, Doorley has been with Gaston County Schools for more than a decade and moved to North Carolina from Pennsylvania in 2004. He has a Masters Degree in administration from Gardner-Webb University.?
