Mexican misery

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom.

The strongest hurricane on record—did that get your attention?  Hurricane Patricia is ashore on the western coast of Mexico tonight.  One weather station reported wind speeds of sustained 185 miles per hour, with gusts up to 211 mph!  No wonder Eric Thomas calls this a catastrophic storm—one that could bring misery to Mexico, more flooding to Texas and some rains for us by the middle of next week.

Tonight, for the first time in Campaign 2016, Donald Trump is not leading a poll.  In Iowa, Dr. Ben Carson is on top of the Republican field, holding a 28-19 advantage over “The Donald.”  Texas congressman Ted Cruz is up to third with 10% of likely voters.

At Scarowinds tonight, a happily married couple got married again—in a zombie wedding ceremony.  Our reporter, Sarah-Blake Morgan says they went through with the abnormal nuptials to please their autistic son.  She’ll have a better explanation at 11:00.

Please join Molly Grantham, Eric Thomas, Delano Little and me for WBTV News at 11:00 tonight!
