CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - We continue to track the next cold front plowing across the Old North State today.
A few sprinkles with this front may survive in the mountains this morning, but little, if any showers will survive outside of the mountains as the front moves through this afternoon.
That will set most of us up for another pretty day and a nice way to end the work week. Highs will be in the low and mid 70s across the region out ahead of the front. There will be a few more clouds as it moves through this afternoon. Friday night football games appear to be in excellent shape with a few gusts of wind around.
The cold air really shows up quickly Saturday with morning lows starting out in the low 40s and highs only in the mid 60s. Beyond that, we will struggle to get above the 50s Sunday and Monday with lows actually approaching freezing Monday and Tuesday morning.
The record for the earliest freeze ever in Charlotte was October 9th, 2000 when we hit 31°.
Enjoy frosty weather and protect those plants!
