TAYLORSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - A Taylorsville minister faces assault charges for allegedly pinching a handicapped child on the buttocks multiple times.
According to police, 62-year-old Dennis Chapman is a bus driver for the school system and drove the exceptional children bus. Police say they learned Chapman is also the pastor of a small baptist church in Wilkes County.
Friday, a woman reported that she witnessed Chapman pinching a young child four times on the buttock.
Chapman was charged with assault on a child less than 12 years old.
He was arrested Wednesday and taken before a magistrate where he was given a $2000 unsecured bond.
