SHELBY, NC (WBTV) - Police have arrested four people and charged them with murder after a man visiting a Shelby motel was shot and killed early Monday morning.
According to investigators, 35-year-old Travis Wallace, from Gaffney, was shot around 4:23 a.m. at the Super 8 Motel on E. Dixon Boulevard in Shelby. He was later pronounced dead by paramedics.
After an investigation by the Shelby Police Department, Union County Sheriff's Department, Union County Public Safety, and the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department four people were arrested and are being held without bond in the Union County Jail in South Carolina.
Forty-six-year-old Timothy John Clark, 37-year-old Willa Jean Hucks, 26-year-old Brint Ray Davis and 36-year-old Michael Anthony Dinneen were all charged with first degree murder. They were all charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The motel is off of Highway 74, about half a mile past the mall and beside a Verizon Wireless store, officials say.
Wallace posted a picture of himself with a gun on his Facebook page Sunday night just hours before he was killed. Shelby Police Chief Jeff Ledford confirmed that investigators are 'looking at' the victim's Facebook page.
Shelby Police Department's CSI team assisted in the investigation. No word on a possible motive.
