#MollysKids: Update on leukemia battle for 4-year-old Ava Reece in Kannapolis... how you can help

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

Ava Reece has been in-and-out of the hospital the past couple weeks. She’s one of our #‎MollysKids from September, fighting leukemia.
(Sept. 2nd post here)

Little Ava got a bad cold and mild ear infection last week. That caused her to run a fever. Anytime she has a fever she has to see a doctor and blood work has to be collected.

Even “little” things like a cold cause major problems to a 4-year-old fighting ALL.

Luckily in this case, it was nothing too serious and her mom Amanda says they were able to get home to Kannapolis pretty quickly.

Wanted to post this update about Ava now because this weekend her friends and family are hosting a fish fry at her church in Salisbury, where 100% of proceeds go to Ava and her family. I’ll put a flyer in comments below. It’s open to the public.

“We have been so grateful for the overwhelming love and support shown from the community,” says Amanda.  “People sometimes don’t even know how good they are. We feel blessed!”

They feel blessed. Perspective is everything.

**Editor’s note: This is about one of #MollysKids, children WBTV Anchor Molly Grantham follows closely on her Facebook page. It was first published there – which is why it’s written in a personal way. For years Molly has followed hundreds of kids with uphill medical battles.
