The latest rain totals are in!
You may not like what they are though… At the airport, Charlotte officially picked up 1.77" today. That brings our yearly rainfall departure to -3.92". It seems hard to believe that after ALL the rain we've gotten the past few days, we're still that far behind, doesn't it?
Here's the good news. We don't actually have to make up the deficit to get rid of the drought. There are other things that are more important than an actual number. We've gotten good rainfall over the Catawba River Basin. That water will wash downstream and help to fill up the lakes in the WBTV viewing area. Many lake levels are already improving. No, we don't necessarily want it at one time but obviously, we don't get to choose that.
It's been a dreary couple of days but they haven't been a waste! This rain definitely helps our cause!
