Hurricane coming?

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom.

Joaquin is now a Cat 2 and could escalate into major hurricane status.  Eric Thomas will have the latest track from the National Hurricane Center, but regardless how close it comes to Charlotte, we will get heavy rain Friday, Saturday and into Sunday.

Also tonight, we’ll have a medical update on the little girl who was badly burned after a gas can near an outdoor trash fire exploded.

The government won’t shut down over funding for Planned Parenthood.  President Obama tonight signed a bill to keep things running for ten weeks until a budget deal can be hammered out.

Ever heard of an attempted robbery thwarted, by a phone call?  Tonight in my Crime Stoppers report, you’ll see the exclusive video of a young woman who demands money from a yogurt shop, but when the phone rings, she leaves empty handed.

And will Luke Keuchly play Sunday?  Delano says he didn’t practice today, so it’s looking doubtful.

Please join Delano, Eric Thomas, Molly Grantham and me for WBTV News at 11:00!
