Detective badly injured

Hi everyone, this is Paul Cameron at my desk in the WBTV Newsroom.

Lightning, thunder, heavy rain and dozens of accidents tonight.  Two bad ones in particular on I-77 and I-485 have caused the interstate to shut down.  In one instance, a CMPD Detective has life threatening injuries after a rollover and ejection.

Our seemingly ceaseless rain is causing flooding problems in the mountains and foothills.  The silver lining is, all that water will flow downhill and eventually help the whole Catawba chain.

There’s a new political poll out and Hillary Clinton may be looking over her shoulder at someone who has yet to declare he’s in the race.

Quite the scrape at a hearing in the US House over Planned Parenthood funding.  The organization’s president was put on the hot seat by Republicans who want to withhold money after anti-abortion videos surfaced allegedly showing Planned Parenthood employees selling fetal tissue.

Also tonight, Delano Little has the latest on Charles Johnson’s injury and the newest member of the Carolina Panthers.

Please join Delano, Eric Thomas, Molly Grantham and me for WBTV News at 11:00 after the new CBS show, Limitless.
