CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) - Officials in Charlotte are investigating a sewage spill.
The Charlotte Observer reported that about 1,060 gallons of sewage spilled into a tributary of Four Mile Creek on Monday.
Officials say they think a grease blockage caused the sewage spill near the TPC Piper Glen golf course.
Charlotte Water spokesman Cam Coley said in a statement that anything put into plumbing or a manhole can cause sewer overflows. There was no immediate word on where the grease buildup originated.
