CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - It's the unofficial end to summer… Labor Day weekend!
A lot of us have plans to spend at least part of the weekend in the great outdoors. And after an early September heat wave, temperatures are going to cool down heading into the weekend.
A cool area of high pressure will set up to our Northeast during the weekend.
This will allow for a stronger on-shore or Easterly flow across North Carolina. That means a chance for rain showers and afternoon highs will dip into the low and mid-eighties across the Piedmont.
I would cancel any outdoor plans. But just know that Saturday holds the best shot for rain showers in the Charlotte vicinity.
Forecast high in Charlotte for Saturday is currently 83 degrees…and that's a pretty big departure from the mid-nineties we've seen recently.
Right now Labor Day looks dry with temps in the comfortable mid-eighties.
