Father of missing Rowan teen Erica Parsons jailed for trespassing

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - The biological father of missing Rowan County teenager Erica Parsons was jailed overnight for trespassing at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, according to an arrest report at the Salisbury Police Department.

Billy Dean Goodman, 51, whose address is the shelter at Rowan Helping Ministries, was arrested at 612 Mocksville Avenue just after 11:00 pm Monday night and charged with second degree trespassing.

The arrest warrant does not give further details on the circumstances of the arrest.

Goodman was jailed under a bond of $1000.  Goodman has a lengthy arrest record in Rowan County for various charges, including assault on a police officer, breaking and entering, and resisting arrest.

Goodman's daughter, Erica Parsons, has been missing for more than two years and has been the focus of national media and police attention.  Erica's adoptive parents, Casey and Sandy Parsons, are serving 10 and 8 years respectively in federal prison for stealing federal adoption assistance money after Erica disappeared.

A $50,000 reward remains in place for information regarding the disappearance and whereabouts of Erica Parsons.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rowan Sheriff's Office at 704-216-8700.
