CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A few areas of patchy fog will begin the day for us, following the showers that rolled through overnight. Humidity is still quite high, and wake-up temps will be in the upper 70s already for most of us.
As a weak cold front rolls through the Carolinas, be on the lookout for afternoon and evening storms. The front won't have a lot of moisture to work with, but there will still be about a 30% coverage of storms later on today.
While we won't see much of a temperature drop behind this front, dry air arrives for Friday and through the weekend pushing any chance of rain to near zero for that entire period. It will also be much less humid and feel more comfortable as dew points crash from the 70s to the 50s.
Chances for much needed rain stay slim through early next week, as the heat gradually creeps upward again.
