Carolina Panther on board flight that made emergency landing? LIVE updates on WBTV

FLIGHT DIVERTED: A Charlotte-bound flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Indianapolis Tuesday night and a Carolina Panther may have been on the plane.

According to American Airlines, Flight 1277 from Chicago O'Hare to Charlotte was diverted Tuesday night after an indicator light came on about a possible mechanical issue.

During the time the plane was on the ground in Indianapolis, Carolina Panthers cornerback Charles Tillman posted a video on Twitter with the caption "Hopefully this will be my first and only emergency landing."

HOSPITAL LOCKED DOWN: A Gaston County hospital was on lockdown early Wednesday morning after a shooting in the area.

Gastonia Police say the lockdown at Caramount Medical Center was the result of a shooting from Tuesday night.

It was a precaution as the victim was being transported there. The lockdown was later lifted.

FIRE STATION CLOSED: The Providence Volunteer Fire Station in Weddington is now officially closed.

This has been a controversial issue for people who received emergency services from the department.
